Please welcome Mrs. Elliott Locklear to FBS! She will be teaching 1st Grade this year!
Elliott attended The University of South Carolina for her undergraduate and
graduate degrees. She received a Masters in Early Childhood Education in
2005 and has since worked in many local private schools. She has had the
unique experience to be part of the initial planning and launching phases of
several programs, including Porter-Gaud Kindergarten, Meeting Street
Academy and Mason Prep Kindergarten. Most recently, Elliott served in an
administrative role at Village Academics and has spent the past year
homeschooling her two children. With over ten years of classroom experience
teaching and engaging with multiple grade levels, Elliott is overjoyed to join a
collaborative team that embraces a growth mindset at First Baptist School.
She is enthusiastic to be back in the classroom, nurturing each scholar’s
development as they prosper within a joyful learning environment.
Elliott has been married for 9 wonderful years and has had the privilege of
homeschooling her three-year-old son and 1st grade daughter this past year.
She grew up in a small community downtown Charleston and feels blessed to
provide a similar, joyful learning experience for her children, as they are
equally excited to become Hurricanes! She is mostly passionate about joining
a nurturing, faith-based community that values the development of the whole
child. Elliott enjoys outdoor adventures, gardening, cooking, reading, and
boating with her family!
