Greetings,
We hope this letter finds you well and that your family is enjoying a wonderful summer. As we all adjust to a new normal, we are still actively making plans for the upcoming school year. We hope that this brief video and outlined information will be helpful to your family as you plan as well.
After you read through the outlines of the health/safety protocols and the learning plans from each campus, please fill out the following survey. If you have a student on the Downtown Campus (Grades K2-8), please click here. If you have a student on our James Island Campus (Grades 9-12), please click here. If you have children at both campuses, please fill out both surveys. We ask that you please have these surveys completed by Friday, July 24th. If you have any questions, please contact your campus administrator. Over the next week or so, we will be posting our full, detailed plan on our school's website.
As of today, we are still planning on beginning school on Monday, August 17th at both campuses. Any changes to the start of the school year will be communicated directly from First Baptist School.
In additional news, Gov. McMaster announced the Safe Access to Flexible Education (SAFE) Grants is a program to address the educational needs of eligible K5-12 students who attend participating independent schools in South Carolina. Families with a household adjusted gross income of 300% or less of the federal poverty level may apply to receive a SAFE Grant of up to $6,500 per student. This program is permitted up to 5,000 students statewide for a total of $32 million in aid. Click here for additional info on how to apply.
While this will be an adjustment for everyone, the goals of serving your family and providing a top-quality, Christ-centered education remain the same. We are thankful for all of you, and we are confident that God will bless us with a great school year!
God Bless and Go Canes!
