Christian Focus Week - created to bless fifth to twelfth grade students with a time for intentional worship, immersion in God’s word, and prayerful response to God’s call on their lives - took place during March on our James Island and downtown Charleston campuses.
JP Poisson, the middle and high school campus minister, led this year’s Christian Focus Week, and worship leaders and speakers from the Charleston area also participated in the event. This year, Christian Watts and Ali Smith, worship leaders at Church of LifePark in Mt. Pleasant, lead worship on our downtown campus while McLeod Best, lead middle school minister at Church of LifePark, spoke to our intermediate and middle school students. James Island students worshiped with Robbie Madison from Seacoast James Island and heard God’s Word from Matt Tyler, lead pastor at FBS Mt. Pleasant.
“What a great opportunity we have at FBS to set aside a more intentional time to focus on our Christian worldview through Christian Focus Week. We were able to bring in pastors and worship leaders from our community to challenge our school on what it really means to follow Jesus Christ. This is easily lost in our world today, but I am thankful that the text of Scripture helps set the record straight for us. Grades 5th-12th were able to participate in these chapel gatherings. We held chapel gatherings at each of our campuses. I know that these chapel gatherings were a blessing to our school and its families and will continue to be a blessing in the years to come.”
