Our extension program and after school clubs are offered for students on our Downtown Campus. These programs offer fun and enrichment after the school day has ended.

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
GRADES K2-8TH

Extended Day Program

To assist working parents, First Baptist School offers an Extension Program to Lower School and Middle School families. Children who enroll in the Extension Program will engage in free play, East Bay playground visits, games, and homework time. The Extension Program is housed in 48 Meeting, Carriage House and Middle School buildings.

 

The Extension Program operates Monday through Friday, beginning the first full day of school and continuing through the last day of school (provided sufficient enrollment is maintained). The hours are from the end of the school day until 5:30 p.m. There will be a late fee of $1 per minute beginning at 5:31 p.m. There will be no Extension Program during school holidays.

Offerings vary each semester and by grade. View our current semester offerings below!

Aftercare is available for students that need to stay beyond the club end time until 5:30 pm. Please be sure to add extended care to your registration if your student will be staying.

Art Club

Led by Ms. Debbie Bowers, students will learn beyond classroom art and work on different projects throughout the semester.

School of Empty Hand Art is bringing back Karate Club to FBS!

  • Learn Martial Art fundamentals and self-defense techniques.

  • Promote physical fitness and good health practices.

  • Demonstrate respect for yourself and others.

  • Traditional belt/rank advancement.

Chess Tournament
Chess Club

Chess Club introduces students to the game of chess and combines both educational and social activities. Students will get together to play, to learn, to teach, to meet old friends, and to make new ones. Chess Club welcomes students with varied levels of skill, experience, and age. Throughout the semester, students will move through an online course that will introduce the pieces, explain the rules of the game, and teach various check tactics. As the club progresses over the 11 weeks, we will play both leisurely games and speed/clocked games.

Pickleball

Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. It’s adaptability makes it an ideal choice for individuals of diverse abilities and ages. This rapid growing sport has transcended traditional boundaries and has become a symbol of inclusivity and community. The objective of WePickle is to introduce and promote the sport by providing an intro to pickleball class at First Baptist School. The class aims to provide students with a structured recreational activity that promotes physical fitness, social interaction, teamwork, and skill development.

Drama Kids

We're putting on a show and we want you to be in it! Meet us for hour-long developmental drama each week to build your acting skills! Drama builds communication, listening, group collaboration, literacy, problem solving and public speaking through improvisation, snippets, duologues, silent scenes, character development and theater games. Projection, articulation, gesturing, and body levels are all explored during our award-winning, curriculum based creative drama lessons.
